Please use water conservatively during your stay. 🚽 Plumbing • Please flush toilet paper only • Do not flush wipes (even those labeled “flushable”), paper towel, or any other products • The septic system is very sensitive • If the power goes out, please do not flush the toilets. Without electricity, the well pump will not function properly ⚠️ Important: Any damage to the septic or plumbing system caused by improper use will result in a surcharge for repairs. ________________________________________ 🔦 Lighting & Power Outages Several of the lights provided in the cottage are designed to be especially helpful during power outages. • The lights located in the bedroom and living room are removable and rechargeable • They can be lifted off their bases and used as portable lights or flashlights • The charging station is plugged into a wall outlet • The nightlights provided in the cottage can also be removed and used as flashlights during a power outage These features are provided to help ensure you have adequate lighting and added convenience if the electricity goes out. ________________________________________ 🗑️ Waste Disposal Prince Edward Island takes waste management very seriously. Everything must be properly separated: • Green bin is for compost • Black bin is for garbage • Bins are located behind the shed • Please follow the sorting guide posted in the cottage • If you have excess recycling, please let us know and someone will come by to pick it up ⚠️ Important: If garbage is not properly sorted and results in additional handling, fees, or penalties, a surcharge may be applied. 🚛 Garbage Collection • Coastal Trail Cottages staff will come by Monday morning to put out the bins for pickup ________________________________________ 🧺 Laundry Laundry is in the outbuilding on the property: • Separate washer and dryer available for guest use • Please do not overload the machines • Please clean the lint trap after each use ________________________________________ 🏖️ Towels • Please use the provided beach towels for outdoor use • Bath towels are for indoor use only • PEI sand and soil can permanently stain linens ________________________________________ 🍳 Kitchen & Cooking • Nonstick cookware is provided — please only use plastic utensils • Please do not place hot pans directly on surfaces ________________________________________ ❄️🔥 Heat Pump Use Heat pumps work a little differently than traditional systems. For best comfort and efficiency: • Set a comfortable temperature and leave it • Make small adjustments and allow the unit time to respond before changing settings again • Avoid pressing multiple buttons quickly • Please ensure all windows and doors are closed while the heat pump is running DO: Find the right setting and leave it DON’T: Use “AUTO” mode ________________________________________ 🚗 Parking • Parking for Lupin Cottage is available on the right-hand side of the cottage beside the shed • It is perfectly fine to drive on the grass in this area • Please park in the designated area only • Do not block driveways or access points ________________________________________ 🏡 House Notes • No parties or events • Please respect the quiet nature of the property • Registered guests only • Please report any damages or issues during your stay ________________________________________ 🐾 Pet Policy • Well-behaved pets are welcome if pre-approved • Please clean up after your pet • Pets are not to be left unattended • Please do not allow your pets on the furniture ⚠️ Important: Any damage caused by pets will result in full replacement or repair costs being charged. ________________________________________ 📺 TV & Streaming • Smart TV available for guest use • Please log out of personal accounts prior to departure ________________________________________ 🔥 Fire Safety • Smoke detectors are installed throughout the cottage • Fire extinguisher located inside the unit • In case of emergency, please call 911 ________________________________________ 🌲 Property & Trail Access You’re welcome to enjoy the grounds during your stay. • The Confederation Trail runs directly through the property • A short walk down the path will connect you to the trail • It is approximately a 15-minute walk into St. Peter’s Bay Please be respectful of the property, surroundings, and other guests. ________________________________________ 🔥 Fire Pit Use Guests are welcome to use the fire pit during their stay. • Please check local guidelines for any fire bans before use • Do not use the fire pit during high winds • Never leave a fire unattended • Please ensure the fire is completely out before heading in for the night ________________________________________ 🌅 Enjoy Your Stay Relax, explore the property, and enjoy everything St. Peter’s Bay has to offer. 🧺 Shed Access & Shared Laundry The shed located on the property contains the shared laundry area for both the Lupin and Bayberry cottages. Guests are welcome to use: • The washer and dryer • Beach towels • Outdoor toys and items available for guest use Please note that the storage containers located inside the shed are private and off limits to guests.
